Sharp edges are removed and tool marks are left visible
Bead BlastSharp edges are removed and part(s) are bead blasted to remove tool marks. This leaves a uniform matte surface finish.

Choose the general tolerance, surface roughness, and threads for your part. No 2D Drawing required.
Use 2D DrawingUpload a 2D Drawing provide additional specifications. This will require a manual quote.
Specifications
To add threads to this part, click the plus sign below. Unless specified in an drawing or notes section, our engineers will determine thread depth.
Note: Blind holes with depths less than 0.4 x diameter & through holes with depths less than 0.2 x diameter are not detected due to manufacturing challenges.

Inspection
We offer two inspection options: First Article Inspection (FAI) combined with a Sampling Plan, or FAI alone. We recommend selecting the FAI + Sampling Plan option to consistently ensure high-quality parts.
FAI + Sampling PlanA 100% dimensional First Article Inspection is performed on the initial part. Subsequent parts are inspected according to a sampling plan based on Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) with zero acceptance for defects. This sampling targets critical dimensions identified by our engineers, including tight tolerances, explicitly dimensioned features (outside general tolerance blocks), dimensions prone to deviations without careful attention, and any specifications explicitly marked as critical to quality.
FAIOnly the initial part produced undergoes a comprehensive, 100% dimensional inspection. Subsequent parts do not receive additional dimensional inspections.
AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) defines the maximum allowable percentage of defective items in a batch. At ProtoXYZ, we adhere to AQL with C=0, meaning no defects are permitted, ensuring consistently high-quality parts. Lower AQL values require a larger sample size for inspection to verify that the percentage of in-tolerance parts meets the required standard.

Sampling Plan AQL
Specify the total number of dimensions to be recorded during inspection. A 2D drawing with clearly marked critical dimensions is required if you need more than the basic measurements (length, width, and height) included in the inspection report. For any dimensions not designated as critical, ProtoXYZ's engineers will determine which features to inspect.
An inspection report is provided with every order.
If your part is ITAR restricted, we will ensure that it is manufactured in compliance with these regulations.

Issues
Your part is likely to warp during machining due to it's low relative thickness and a high internal stress material selected.
What's the impact? Two additional machining processes are required to keep your part within tolerance. This has increased the price and may increase the lead time.
How to improve itOption 1: Switch to a low internal stress material. These include:
- Aluminum MIC-6
Option 2: Redesign your part to increase the thickness (or decrease length/width).
